WWI short story competition (15-21yr olds)
As part of the 100th anniversary of the Great War, the Historical Commemorations and Centenaries Working Group of the Church of Ireland is sponsoring a short story competition to see how World War One still is remembered by today’s youth. This competition, therfore, is eligible for those between the ages of 15 and 21.
Those interested in participating can write about any aspect of the impact of the First World War in any part of Ireland or on the Irish people between 1914 and 1918. The essays should be no longer than 3,500 words. The prize for first place will be €1,000, second place will received €300 and third place will be awarded €200. Furthermore, it is intended that these three essays will be published, in addition to eight of the best stories submitted.
