Biography of Rt Revd Donald Caird

On 26 July 2014 at 6pm, Christ Church Cathedral will host the launch of the biography of the the former Archbishop of Dublin, the Rt Revd Donald Caird. The book, entitled Donald Caird: Church of Ireland Bishop: Gaelic Churchman: a Life, is written by Aonghus Dwane and published by Columba Press. Mrs Justice Catherine McGuinness will officially launch the book immediately following a service of Urnaí na Nóna (Evensong in Irish) at 5pm. A reception will be held in the south transept.

The book launch will take place in the context of the ongoing centenary celebrations this year of Cumann Gaelach na hEaglaise (the Irish Guild of the Church), of which Dr Caird is a long-standing member. Those who attend the event will have an opportunity to view the new exhibition in the cathedral marking notable events in the Cumann’s history.

Members of the public are welcome to attend.
