Symposium on Johnathan Swift
‘Swift approaching; approaching Swift’ is the thirteenth Dublin symposium on Johnathan Swift. It will take place in the deanery of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin on Saturday, 18 October 2014. Beginning at 1.30pm, delegates will proceed to Marsh’s Library for a presentation on Swift’s collections. This will be followed by four short papers in the Deanery by Professors Claire Connolly (University College, Cork), Christine Gerrard (University of Oxford), Sean Moore (University of New Hampshire) and Jenny Davidson (Columbia University). After the break, Professor Frank Boyle (Fordham University) will respond to the papers and Professor Claude Rawson (Yale University) will offer some observations on the proceedings. The audience are encouraged to participate in the discussion before retiring to a reception in the dining room.
